About Our Company: Paytm is a prominent digital payments and financial services company in India, dedicated to driving consumers and merchants to its platform by providing a wide range of payment solutions. Paytm offers a variety of services to consumers, including utility payments and money transfers, empowering them to pay via Paytm Payment Instruments (PPI) such as Paytm Wallet, Paytm UPI, Paytm Payments Bank Netbanking, Paytm FASTag, and Paytm Postpaid - Buy Now, Pay Later. For merchants, Paytm provides acquiring devices like Soundbox, EDC, QR codes, and a Payment Gateway for payment aggregation through PPI and other financial instruments. To further enhance merchant businesses, Paytm offers commerce services through advertising and the Paytm Mini app store. Leveraging this platform, the company extends credit services such as merchant loans, personal loans, and BNPL options sourced through its financial partners.

About the Role: As a Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing detailed design structures, implementing best practices, and coding standards.
  • Leading a team of developers to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Collaborating on design, architecture, and hands-on coding.

Requirements: To excel in this role, you should have:

  • 14 to 17 years of experience in technical development, with at least 8 years in providing technical leadership for high-performance teams.
  • Close collaboration with business and product teams to understand requirements, drive design and architecture, and influence technology choices.
  • Building robust, scalable, highly available, and reliable systems using a Microservices Architecture based on Java and Spring Boot.
  • Enhancing engineering and operational excellence by identifying and implementing solutions for observability and manageability.
  • Keeping the technology stack up to date to optimize for scale, cost, and performance.
  • Migrating workloads to public cloud platforms.
  • A positive attitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Serving as a thought leader and mentor on technical, architectural, design, and related issues.
  • Proactively identifying architectural weaknesses and recommending suitable solutions.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
