Data Teams:
Our Data team encompasses responsibilities related to data platforms, management, warehousing, enrichment, and machine learning capabilities. Platform Team:
The Platform team's primary role is to create, develop, and maintain a robust data platform, along with integrations in and out of it. We are currently embarking on an ambitious modernization program that involves transitioning to the cloud, overhauling data ingestion, enhancing data quality, strengthening security, and enforcing governance. Our ultimate aim is to provide a platform-as-a-service.
Data Enablement Teams:
Working in collaboration with the platform team, our Data Enablement teams ensure data is ingested, transformed, and enriched into secure, high-quality, and well-governed consumption layers. We serve a diverse range of customers, from Finance to Marketing and beyond. These teams are actively involved in our data modernization program, which is set to transform data production, management, and analysis in line with our ambitious goals.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll join a team of inquisitive, energetic, and dedicated individuals. Your role involves realizing our vision of creating an integrated, scalable, high-performance, and compliant data platform and pipelines. You will play a crucial part in replacing existing ad-hoc data solutions with modern, technology-driven foundations that enable the seamless production of high-quality data for analysis. Collaboration, active participation in team discussions, and mentoring junior engineers are also key aspects of this role.
You Will:
- Contribute to the development of best practices.
- Experiment with new tools and technologies to drive engineering excellence.
- Provide guidance to product teams in selecting technical solutions that meet functional, non-functional, and architectural requirements.
- Coach and guide colleagues and stakeholders to improve their performance by sharing knowledge and experiences.
- Identify opportunities for process, system, and structural improvements, with a focus on enhancing performance.
- Set a clear direction for a technical capability by evaluating and aligning architectural improvements and reframing design decisions.
- Develop scalable, reliable, flexible, high-performance data pipelines and platforms.
- Work with business users to model and implement data pipelines that are performant, scalable, reliable, secure, and well-governed.
- Collaborate with other teams to achieve business objectives.
- Take ownership of data quality in core datasets and pipelines, collaborating with other teams to resolve data quality issues.
- Ensure data quality, security, integrity, and governance by adhering to regulatory requirements, company standards, and best practices.
- Follow defined principles for architecture, quality, and non-functional requirements.
- Foster the professional growth of colleagues and play a significant role in onboarding new team members.
- Continuously improve services for better performance and resource optimization.
- Keep products/services up to date with the latest technology standards and department guidelines.
- Ensure that service level agreements are met through tests and processes.
- Identify bottlenecks, optimize performance, and monitor performance metrics for product health.
- Bridge business and product goals with complex technical tasks.
- Prioritize and solve issues based on customer impact.

Requirements:
- A relevant degree or equivalent background and experience in technology.
- 10+ years of experience as a data engineer.
- For Hadoop Data Engineers:
- 10+ years of experience with Hadoop/Big Data, and tools like Spark, Airflow/Oozie, SQL, and Kafka.
- 10+ years of software development experience in Python or Scala.
- For SQL Data Engineers:
- 10+ years of experience in designing, building, and optimizing Data Warehouses in databases like MSSQL (with SSIS), MySQL, or Redshift.
- 10+ years of software development experience in Python or Scala.
- Proficiency in Data Modeling.
- Self-motivated to explore new technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-starter, highly motivated, and a team player.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and find logical solutions.

- Experience with Python, Spark, Airflow, Impala, Hive, Snowflake, DBT.
