Team Summary:
Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, committed to serving clients, including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants, by addressing their strategic challenges related to performance and profitability. VCA leverages expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operations, and macroeconomics to drive high-impact, tangible financial results.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be part of the VCA Data Science geographic team cluster for India and South Asia (INSA) markets. Your role involves supporting data science initiatives with Visa's clients. The team offers an array of consulting services and data-driven solutions addressing unique challenges in areas like strategic growth, profitability, risk management, digital strategy, and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and deliver data science engagements for India and South Asia clients using multiple data sources.
- Develop strategic benchmarking dashboards in Tableau for top banks and FinTech companies in India and South Asia to assist in portfolio management and optimization.
- Storyboard insights from the dashboards and identify market gaps.
- Effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and data-driven insights to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure consistency, standards, and quality control of deliverables with up-to-date coding and project documentation.
- Optimize and automate benchmarking dashboards through collaboration with Hub teams, Data engineering teams, and IT.
- Manage time efficiently across multiple reports/projects, ensuring timely delivery to clients while maintaining accuracy.
- Understand client business requirements and perform end-to-end scoping for project deliverables.
- Assist in pitching benchmarking dashboards to various clients and resolve queries promptly.
- Explore opportunities for innovation using Visa data, client data, and non-traditional data to address clients' needs.

Qualifications:
What you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree (a Master's degree would be advantageous) in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data-based quantitative analysis.
- Proficiency in Tableau, Hive, SQL, Python, Spark, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Hands-on experience and proficiency in independently designing and building dashboards using Tableau.
- Excellent analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to solve business problems with data.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
- A high degree of accountability and the ability to manage end-to-end deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel 20% or more.

- Exposure or prior work experience in the payments and/or banking industry.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
