The Role:
The Data Science & Analytics team utilizes data-driven insights to inform decisions related to member behavior, preferences, and trends. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Data Scientist I to join our growing Revenue team. In this role, you will collaborate with Revenue, Product, Marketing, Engineering, and Finance teams to enhance our platform. The ideal candidate is passionate about the intersection of online dating and economics and adept at analyzing financial data to identify patterns. This role is situated within the Revenue division of Tinder and will focus on financial, pricing, and paid-feature conversion data.
Location: This position can be based in either Los Angeles or San Francisco, California.
Responsibilities:
- Transform complex transaction datasets into concise analytics to identify new opportunities.
- Investigate KPI fluctuations in a dynamic global dataset, distinguishing between correlation and causation for efficient issue resolution.
- Collaborate with strategy and finance teams to analyze global online dating trends and provide market research to inform pricing decisions.
- Take ownership of your projects, balancing speed and business value.
- Serve as an authority on data organization and readily share insights with data scientists, product managers, and finance leaders.
- Establish and operationalize comprehensive performance metric tracking via rollout tables, dashboards, and automated reporting.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Mode, Databricks).
- Ability to merge multiple tables and data sources into aggregated formats for improved business insights.
- Proficiency in designing and executing complex A/B tests and statistical experiments on large datasets.
- Experience with a scripting language (Python, R, and/or Spark) and relevant data analysis libraries.
- Eagerness to enhance data infrastructure and reporting methods within the organization.
- Competence in using descriptive statistics.
- Inquisitiveness regarding both business and technical operations.
- A collaborative mindset with a commitment to community-based projects and partnerships.
- Experience with financial and subscription business data is a plus.

Salary Range:
$115,000 - $130,000 per year
