Job Opportunity
As a Software Development Engineer II within Hiver's Strategic Initiative division, you will play a pivotal role in constructing solutions with significant strategic impact for the business. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with and mentor a team of talented engineers, fostering both personal and professional growth through exposure to challenging projects, high levels of ownership, and autonomy. You will tackle intricate technical challenges, developing frameworks to monitor and enhance system performance, and elevating reliability and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Building, maintaining, and scaling APIs and microservices, taking ownership of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) encompassing documentation, data modeling, and deployment.
- Active participation in solution brainstorming, release planning, and code reviews.
- Early-phase project involvement, contributing foundational work on various aspects, and playing a key role in defining and refining engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Close collaboration with co-developers, designers, and stakeholders to craft dynamic and engaging user experiences while embracing emerging standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining production-grade services with a substantial user base.
- Professional experience of at least 1 year with Ruby-on-Rails.
- Proficiency in web fundamentals, a high-level understanding of the frontend ecosystem, and familiarity with modern development practices.
- Strong knowledge of design patterns and best practices, emphasizing the creation of clean, linted, maintainable, and reusable code.
- In-depth understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and proficiency in data modeling concepts.
- Solid foundation in Computer Science, with expertise in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Comprehensive understanding of cloud concepts and proficiency in the latest infrastructure stack (AWS).
