Position Overview: We are in search of an Analytics Engineer III responsible for crafting clean, organized data sets utilized by our Data Analysts, Operations teams, and fellow Arcadians. In this hands-on and collaborative role, you will play a key part in constructing data assets that facilitate analysis and inform daily business decisions. Your contribution will involve applying engineering rigor and seasoned data modeling expertise to address complex data modeling challenges alongside our Analytics Engineering team.
Our data lake resides on Snowflake, where we construct our curated data layer, referred to as the Lakehouse. SQL in dbt, specifically dbt Core orchestrated in Prefect, forms the primary toolkit for your work.

Responsibilities:
- Transform, test, deploy, and document data to deliver clean and reliable data for analysis to end-users.
- Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts, and business analysts to identify optimal data structures for understanding our evolving business.
- Introduce engineering best practices to our DAG and Data team, emphasizing reliability, modularity, test coverage, and documentation.
- Collaborate with data engineers to construct robust, tested, and scalable ELT pipelines.
Daily Tasks:
- Data modeling: Convert raw data into clean, tested, and reusable datasets representing key business data concepts, defining rules and requirements for data formats and attributes.
- Data transformation: Construct the data lakehouse by transforming raw data into meaningful elements through joining, filtering, and aggregating source data.
- Data documentation: Maintain comprehensive data documentation, including data definitions and descriptions, to enable widespread understanding of data usage.
- Employ engineering best practices to enhance our code base.
Qualifications: Must-Haves:
- 2+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer or equivalent role, with a preference for dbt experience.
- 4+ years in the data space (data engineering, data science, analytics, or similar).
- Strong understanding of conceptual data modeling and data mart design.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, coupled with experience in data structures, database design, and platforms like Snowflake.
- Customer-oriented and empathetic approach to understanding data's business impact.
- Strong communication skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Degree in math, statistics, engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Experience in predictive modeling and statistical analysis.
