Job Overview:

We are seeking a Data Analyst II to join our dynamic team at Chegg, a premier student-first connected learning platform. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, proactive, and organized individual with a high level of responsiveness and flexibility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Data Analytics Team, delivering key performance metrics, and providing clear insights drawn from diverse sets of data across various Chegg products.

Responsibilities:

• Create optimized queries and extract details from diverse databases (SQL, NoSQL).
• Develop forecasts and predictions for different KPI parameters, contributing to successful business operations.
• Investigate complex datasets and schemas for various products, facilitating process changes.
• Lead various projects and conduct research for business insights.
• Identify meaningful patterns in data and summarize key takeaways.
• Provide summaries and insights for informed business decisions.
• Address team issues, supporting other team members.
• Conduct top-level ad-hoc analyses and present results for improved decision-making.
• Generate high-level monitoring reports and dashboards within defined timelines.
• Extract details from nested data formats (JSON, Spectrum).
• Handle exceptions and errors during data pulls.
• Create configurable data models in Excel, Python, or R.
• Conduct statistical tests and sample analyses.

Requirements:

• BS/MS in Preferred Fields: Science, Math, Engineering.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in SQL query writing, query optimization, and building nested queries.
• Coding skills in Python or R for data analysis (utilizing pandas, numpy).
• Descriptive and inferential analysis abilities.
• Experience with visualization or reporting tools such as SSRS, Tableau, Domo, Power BI, etc.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to present findings statistically.
• Proficient in data mining, cleansing, and munging.
• Familiarity with general concepts of Machine Learning.
• Predictive analysis skills.
• Knowledge of SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Redshift, Databricks, Alation, API, Connectors.
• ETL data movement management through scripts from S3 and different databases.
• Advanced Excel (VBA) and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to build configurable models in Excel, Python, or R.
• Scripting/programming knowledge is a must.
• Ability to explore complex datasets and schemas independently.
• Automation of reports or manual work through scripts.
• Process optimization and critical thinking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills.
• Problem-solving attitude.
• Willingness to work flexible/international hours as needed.
