Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to initiate, lead, and successfully conclude large-scale and complex strategic projects for teams, departments, and the organization.
- Lead and oversee a team of high-performing professionals in data science and data engineering, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and manage fundamental data foundations, executive metrics, methodologies, automated dashboards, and data visualizations to track and extract valuable business insights.
- Analyze extensive structured and unstructured data, creating in-depth analyses and machine learning solutions to enhance member value and customer success.
- Collaborate with technology partners to build, prototype, and validate scalable end-to-end tools and applications (backend, frontend, data) for transforming data into actionable insights.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders and executives, contributing to long-term roadmaps and strategies, prioritizing and scoping projects, providing recommendations, and advocating for data-driven business decisions aligned with strategic goals.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists on analysis design, and lead code and design reviews.
- Innovate across the organization, implementing advanced research, machine learning, experimentation, causal inference, data engineering, and statistical modeling practices to achieve significant business impact.
Basic Qualifications:
- BS/BA in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of industry experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing Data Science/Data Engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated leadership with a track record of building high-performing Data Science and Data Engineering teams, driving projects, applying strategic thinking, building thought leadership, and influencing senior leaders and executives.
- Proven ability to collaborate with peers in engineering and product management across teams to set technical and product direction.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify, and explain complex problems to diverse audiences, including executives.
- Experience with handling massive-scale structured and unstructured data.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., R, Python, Scala).
- Experience influencing strategy through data-centric presentations.
