About the Role:
The Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team at Amazon operates in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and dynamic environment, with a primary focus on delivering exceptional experiences for customers. FOAA is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to support the Amazon Music team.
As an Amazon Business Intelligence Engineer, you will operate within one of the world's largest and most intricate data warehouse environments. Your role demands extensive experience in designing, creating, managing, and leveraging large datasets for business purposes. Exceptional business acumen and communication skills are crucial for collaborating with business owners to formulate and articulate key business questions, as well as constructing datasets to answer these questions. Your expertise should extend to designing, implementing, and maintaining stable, scalable, and cost-effective solutions for flowing data from production systems into the data warehouse and subsequently into user-facing applications. Effective collaboration with business stakeholders is imperative to comprehend business requirements and implement reporting solutions. The ideal candidate is driven by a passion for amalgamating large datasets to address business queries and instigate change.
This individual will be responsible for the production and delivery of a suite of analytical reports and dashboards that play a pivotal role in organizational decision-making. Key responsibilities include:
Delivery of Standardized Performance Metrics: Providing global customers (Vendors) and stakeholders (Amazon Music) with standardized performance metrics to enhance operational efficiency, enabling Amazon Music teams to focus on business partnering initiatives.
Collaboration with BI Leadership: Partnering with the existing BI leader to execute the defined roadmap of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Ad-hoc Support for Finance and Business Services: Offering ad-hoc support to Amazon Music finance and business services for SQL report creation, modification, and optimization to address specific business needs.
Issue Resolution and Stakeholder Communication: Debugging report issues, unblocking workflows, and maintaining consistent communication with other teams and stakeholders by providing regular status updates to ensure smooth operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience as an analyst or engineer in the data/BI space
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, QuickSight, or similar tools
- Proficiency in SQL for data retrieval and analysis using tools such as Excel and other data management systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related fields
- 4 to 5 years of relevant work experience with SQL, including 2 to 3 years of experience in writing SQL queries
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Excellent written, verbal, listening, and communication skills
- Experience with reporting tools like Tableau or other BI packages
- Strong team player with FP&A experience to develop forecasting models and report variances against goals, providing an added advantage.
