Team/Department Description
- As a Data Specialist at Moody’s, you'll play a crucial role in researching and collecting Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) data for a designated portfolio of issuers. Your responsibilities will involve adhering to a pre-defined ESG framework and maintaining high-quality standards in data collection.
Responsibilities
Identifying ESG Information: Your primary responsibility will be to identify, understand, and collect Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) information reported by issuers across various industry sectors.
Ensuring Data Accuracy: You'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of collected ESG data by following established quality processes and standards.
Developing Expertise: Over time, you'll develop expertise in relevant ESG and sector themes, allowing you to contribute valuable insights to the organization.
Process Improvement: You'll actively contribute to the continuous improvement of data collection tools and processes, aiming to streamline operations and enhance the efficiency of production activities.
Supporting Internal Projects: Occasionally, you'll provide support for internal projects related to ESG initiatives, leveraging your expertise to drive impactful outcomes.
Role/Responsibilities
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, economics, finance, or a related discipline is preferred. However, equivalent experience in the field will also be considered.
Language Skills: Proficiency in English is essential, as it will be the primary working language for communication and reporting purposes.
Research Skills: Strong research skills are a must-have for this role, enabling you to identify, understand, and gather relevant ESG data from diverse sources effectively.
Analytical Abilities: You should possess strong analytical skills, coupled with a keen eye for detail and accuracy, to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
Autonomous Work: While you'll receive supervision and support from the team, the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks is crucial for success in this role.
Time Management: Demonstrated time management skills are essential to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Communication Skills: Effective communication and writing skills are imperative for synthesizing and reporting information in a clear, accurate manner while meeting quality expectations.
