Job Overview:
- Seeking a collaborative Data Scientist to join the team.
- Reporting to the Director of Data Science.
- Providing technical guidance to a subset of the Analytics and Insights group.
- Supporting various business lines including Industry and University Partnerships, Content/Credentials, Marketing, Finance, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Guide planning, assessment, and execution of marketing initiatives.
- Monitor and develop marketing KPIs, automate processes, and assist with data migration.
- Provide technical feedback throughout project development stages.
- Optimize analytical models, review code, create dashboards, and conduct experimentation.
- Analyze the connection between consumer-focused business and learner pathways.
- Collaborate with data engineering and operations teams to ensure content availability.
- Analyze prospect behavior to identify global growth opportunities.
- Develop and measure growth initiatives in collaboration with content, marketing, and product teams.
Detailed Responsibilities:
- Plan, measure, and evaluate content, engagement, and customer success initiatives.
- Identify gaps in content availability and recommend targeted content acquisition or improvement.
- Define and develop KPIs, create reports to measure impact, and develop dashboards.
- Run exploratory analyses, uncover new opportunities, create and test hypotheses.
- Collaborate with data engineering and operations teams to support product needs.
- Advise content, marketing, and product managers on experimentation and measurement plans.
Basic Qualifications:
- Background in applied math, computer science, statistics, or related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience using data to advise product or business teams.
- 2+ years of experience applying statistical inference techniques to business questions.
- Excellent business intuition, cross-functional communication, and project management skills.
- Strong applied statistics and data visualization skills.
- Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python), one statistical software package (e.g., R, NumPy/SciPy/Pandas), and SQL.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in EdTech or Content Subscription business.
- Experience partnering with SaaS sales and/or marketing organizations.
- Experience working with Salesforce and/or Marketo data.
- Experience with Airflow, Databricks, and/or Looker.
- Experience with Amplitude.
