Introduction
The Data Analyst role at Barclays involves delivering and executing a data strategy for BUK (Barclays UK) to enhance business value by improving data consistency, reliability, and quality across the organization. This position is pivotal in designing, sustaining, and enhancing Barclays' data architecture, ensuring efficient data storage, integration, and management across different IT systems and data entities.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in data design and development, establishing operating models for data usage using architecture tools
- Document and build the current and target state data architecture for various BUK data domains and sub-domains
- Collaborate with CTO portfolio designers to plan the transition from current to target state data architecture
- Ensure delivery of data architecture specifications for change projects across BUK, adhering to data architecture standards
- Support the establishment and improvement of the control environment for data management and quality
- Engage with business units and functions to promote adoption of data architecture standards and ensure compliance with data management policies
- Participate in Data Domain Governance Forum and support the execution of control/governance methods and processes
- Provide consultancy for new initiatives, defining data products and marketplace
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Barclays Data Policies and Standards, ensuring alignment with BUK requirements
- Produce comprehensive data designs, models, architecture, and patterns for various data domains, working closely with domain owners and other architects
- Review test strategies to ensure compatibility with the data architecture
