Profile Overview
- As a Data Scientist at Paramount Pictures, you will play a crucial role under the guidance of the Executive Director of Global Analytics and Data Science.
- Your main responsibilities will include developing machine learning models, advanced analytics tools, web applications, and backend engineering infrastructure.
- These projects are essential for shaping strategies in Production, Marketing, and Distribution at Paramount Pictures.
- You will tackle complex mathematical problems and apply solutions to real-world business challenges, contributing to delivering top-tier, data-driven insights and AI products in the movie industry.
Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Metric Development:
- Utilize large datasets to develop and refine key performance indicators.
- Monitor marketing initiatives, box office performance, and other relevant metrics in both domestic and international markets.
- Automation and Visualization:
- Automate the calculation and visualization of key metrics for regular reporting.
- Ensure insights are reliable and actionable.
- Machine Learning and Statistical Modeling:
- Research, recommend, and implement machine learning and statistical models for various business initiatives.
- Apply innovative models with academic rigor suitable for business use cases.
- Dashboard and Application Development:
- Design and develop advanced Tableau dashboards and applications to communicate analytical insights.
- Create robust backend calculation pipelines to support these dashboards and applications.
- Partner Communication:
- Present technical results and strategic insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure high-quality data and understand the orchestration environment for calculation pipeline deployment.
- Work with business analysts to translate business requests into technical specifications.
Basic Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field from a prestigious institution.
- Professional Experience:
- Minimum of six months of industry or internship experience in a data science or machine learning engineering role.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Python, SQL, and version control using Git.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to independently fit, evaluate, and interpret statistical and machine learning models within a business context.
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating effectively.
- Project Management:
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to Detail:
- High attention to detail ensuring precision in data analysis, model development, and reporting.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow.
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Snowflake.
- Knowledge of cloud services, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficiency in development environments like Visual Studio Code.
- Programming skills in HTML, C, or Java.
- Experience in web application development.
- Understanding of data pipeline ingestion processes.
- A strong desire to learn new technologies and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
- Enthusiasm for AI and AI product development.
Additional Information
- Hiring Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00
- The salary range applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies.
- Starting pay is determined by various job-related factors, including geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
- Benefits:
