Profile Overview:
- As a Data Analyst at TIAA Global Capabilities, you will play a vital role in handling large-scale data projects with a focus on collecting, managing, parsing, and analyzing data to make it accessible to a variety of users.
- You will be part of the team responsible for ensuring data quality, which plays a pivotal role in customer servicing, distribution management, and supporting strategic planning and performance measurement.
- The position involves working closely with the company’s data supply chain, ensuring data accuracy and completeness to maintain the effectiveness of TIAA's distribution platform.
- You will assist in the administration and reporting of enterprise data, identifying data trends that help in answering business questions and improving decision-making processes.
- Key responsibilities include performing data collection, creating detailed data summaries and reports, conducting data quality checks, and contributing to the overall data management ecosystem.
- The role includes participation in the development and implementation of improvements in data management processes, with a focus on improving the organization’s data ecosystem efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Data Collection and Processing:
- Collect, process, and analyze large sets of data.
- Ensure that data is appropriately parsed and made accessible to relevant users.
- Identify syntax, structure, and semantics for each data source.
Data Administration and Planning:
- Monitor and manage the data ecosystem to resolve systemic errors and ensure smooth operations.
- Develop strategies for scaling data operations, addressing integration needs, and maintaining data governance.
- Implement and monitor automated data control mechanisms to improve the effectiveness of the data ecosystem.
- Manage cyclical production releases and ensure up-to-date documentation is maintained for all data solutions.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Compile detailed reports based on data summaries and analyses.
- Maintain accurate and current documentation on each solution, communicating known data issues to stakeholders.
Data System Maintenance:
- Conduct regular performance analysis of data systems.
- Support data system tuning and monitor system performance to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in the improvement of data systems and processes by contributing to innovation and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- A University Degree is preferred, though it is not mandatory.
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in working with data platforms such as Snowflake or Redshift.
- Experience with analytics/reporting platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Alteryx.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with data engineering and data governance practices is a plus.
- Knowledge of marketing platforms or experience in the marketing domain is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to succeed in this role.
- The ability to work collaboratively within teams and effectively communicate data issues and resolutions to stakeholders is crucial.
Related Competencies:
- Experience with cloud platforms, data-driven business intelligence, and data management.
- Programming skills and knowledge of statistics are advantageous.
- Proficiency in business analysis, group problem-solving, and innovation within the context of data management.
