Profile Overview:
The Consumer Products Supply Chain Analytics team at Georgia-Pacific seeks a highly motivated Data Scientist to join their dynamic team. This role involves analyzing large datasets to uncover insights, highlight variances, and develop data-driven solutions to optimize supply chain strategies.
The Data Scientist will collaborate with Analytics Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to address complex supply chain challenges, improve decision-making, and reduce risks through advanced statistical methods, simulations, and data visualization. Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines:
Computer Science
Business Analytics
Industrial Engineering
Operations Research
Supply Chain or related analytical fields
Proficiency in programming languages such as:
Python
C/C++
Java
R
Experience in using data manipulation and analysis tools like Alteryx or similar platforms.
Proficiency with data visualization tools, such as:
CliQ
Power BI
Other data visualization libraries
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, including:
AWS
Azure
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Strong understanding of statistical inference and hypothesis testing.
Expertise in regression analysis and time series analysis.

Collect and preprocess data from various internal and external sources, ensuring data consistency and accuracy while addressing missing values, outliers, and inconsistencies.
Conduct in-depth exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships within datasets.
Highlight gaps and deviations from optimal supply chain strategies and collaborate with Analytics Managers to understand root causes and develop actionable solutions.
Create and improve advanced statistical models, simulations, and algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering) tailored to specific business scenarios.
Develop and maintain dynamic data visualizations to effectively communicate insights across organizational levels.
Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and actionable strategies for decision-making.
Gain in-depth knowledge of Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products Supply Chain to address challenges proactively and drive continuous improvement.
